Emma went to her friend Ava's Princess birthday party on Saturday. It was her first big girl party! The invitation came about 3 weeks ago, and everyday I heard, "When do I get to go to Ava's party?" I was so thrilled when it was finally Saturday, but I don't think more thrilled than Emma. All the girls were suppose to dress up like a Disney character. It was the perfect opportunity for Emma to wear her Tinkerbell costume. As you can see, she was adorable! I told her while we were getting dressed that sometimes mommies stay and sometimes they can go. Right away she said, "I want you to go. I'll be fine." I was happy, but heartbroken--my baby! When we got there, though, Emma did want me to stay, which was fine. Ava is Emma's friend from church, so I know her parents from church and there were two other little girls at the party from church, too, so it worked out well. They played lots of princess games, made princess playdough, ate chicken nuggets and pizza bites (which Emma made clear she did not want any of), and lots of fruit (she made up for the chicken and pizza in this area). Of course they had cake and ice cream. The best part for Emma, though, was the present (goodie bag) that Ava gave to Emma when we left to go home. She kept saying, "It's just like when Grace goes to her parties. I can't wait to show her!" It was just too sweet! I was so glad that I got to stay to experience this!

Emma, you are such a cute Tinkerbell! What a good idea for a 4 year olds birthday party. So what did she get in her "goodie bag"? Just the beginning of many fun parties for Emma. I love you!!!!!! Love, Grammy
So glad that Mommy could experience the party too! What a fun idea for a birthday party!
