What a Great Weekend!

Wow! What a great weekend we all had at MSU! It was even better because the Buckeyes won! Grace got to experience her first Big Ten football game. When it was all over, I asked her if she still wanted to be a Buckeye, and she said, "You bet!" Grammy and I told her that she owes Papa one, though, and someday when she has tickets in the student section to an Ohio State-Michigan State football game, she will have to take her Papa. You should have seen the look on her face! The weather was beautiful, it was fun to see everyone, and I got to kiss on my adorable niece's cheeks. Olivia and Emma enjoyed the band and Emma held her thumb up in approval the entire time they played.

"Your're not missing any of this fun, are you Audrey?"

Who's number one?

Way to Go Buckeyes!!

A Trip to the Pumpkin Farm

Yesterday was took our annual trip to Shaw Pumpkin Farm. As usual, a great time was had by all. I could tell though, sadly, that Grace and Olivia weren't into the fake pumpkin people and little displays they have. Emma really was, though, and she had a good time running around. Grace and Olivia really enjoyed listening to a Bluegrass band they had in one of the barns. I was teasing Grace this morning, asking her if we were going to be going to Shaw Farms one day listening to her play her violin in some bluegrass band. We all enjoyed the hay ride. Emma didn't like the "picky" on her legs (such a city girl), so spent the ride on my lap.

Emma cracks me up! It was hot out, but she insisted on wearing her "cool" jacket, with pockets. She had the pockets filled with all kinds of treasures (rocks, leaves, etc. ) by the end of the morning. She looks like a goon, though, all bundled up, because, heaven forbid, we might unzip it a bit.

While Daddy's Away......

the girls go shopping!!!!!! Dan's in Morehead this weekend for the alumni baseball game and the girls and I stayed home because Grace has a soccer game. Today we got flu shots, had lunch out and then went shopping. Here's a picture of the girls in their new jammies. It has been getting cold here at night and the summer jammies just weren't warm enough anymore!!!!!

"V" is for Victory, Papa

Today the girls and I went shopping and I told Grace to pick out an Ohio State sweatshirt. Well, she didn't like the sweatshirts, so picked out a t-shirt, but when we were standing in line to pay, she said, "You know, I would kind of like a jersey. Is it O.K. for girls to wear a jersey?" We decided why not!!! She is really pumped about going to the game in two weeks with Papa. She very seriously said to me before bed, though, "Mom, are you sure Papa will let me sit with him at the game with this jersey on?" I told her, "Grace just because Papa's blood runs green doesn't mean yours has to. You were born in Ohio, and if your goal is to go to "The" Ohio State University, I think that it is a great goal and your Papa will be very proud of you!" Yesterday when Grace was at dance, I asked Olivia where she was going to go to college. She thought for a moment and said, "Probably Ohio State. Where did you go mom?" I tried to explain to her that she can go where ever she wanted if she continued to work hard in school and mentioned that Great Grandpa Simmons went to Ohio State. She said, "Wow! That must have been a long time ago!" Anyway, we are all looking forward to coming to East Lansing in a couple of weeks! Go Buckeyes!!!!!
