Conversations Between Mothers and Daughters

As I was dropping Emma off at school this morning, I had to laugh to myself because of the two converstations that I've had with Grace and Emma over the last 12 hours in the van. Cars should be equipped with recorders to capture these precious moments! Last night on the way home from soccer, Grace rode with me and we continued our discussion about puberty (she has the big talk at school next week). Here's how the conversation started:

Mom: "Grace, I wanted to talk to you more about puberty."
Grace: "I knew I should have gone with Dad."

This mornings' conversation with Emma was this-

Emma: "Mommy, can I carry my cookies into school for my birthday party?"
Mom: "They might be kind of heavy. Are you sure you don't want me to help you?"
Emma: "Well, I've been eating my corn, and grean beans, and those ball things (peas), so I think I'm strong enough to carry them."

The joys of being a mother!

Soccer in the Rain-Again!

These aren't the best pictures. I don't know if it was the rainy conditions, the fact that I was zoomed in real tight trying to shoot her across the field, or just the picture taker. If it's the camera, this could be my plug for one of those fancy cameras that shoot good action shots while zooming in! Tonight was Grace's last soccer game of the Spring season. I swear she played about 50% of them in the rain! Tuesday's game got rained out before it even started. They were warming up and you could see the sheet of rain coming across the field. They called the game just as the lightening and thunder cracked and it started to POUR!!!! It's been a busy end to the school year--only 6 more days! The girls have a dance recital this weekend and Emma turns 4 on Saturday (my baby!) Check back for more updates soon! There are lots of Hamilton Happenings!
Even though it's blurry, you can tell she loves this game!

One Tough Softball Player

Here are a few shots of Olivia playing softball tonight. She is one tough hitting and fielding machine, and, as you can see, she take it pretty seriously. Too cute!!!

I love this! She's not afraid to play hard and be ready for the ball.

One Lucky Mom

I'm one lucky mom, blessed with three beautiful daughers. I love everything about being their mommy, from watching them grow and experience new things in life (like while we were taking this picture, Olivia asked, "Mom, which smile to you like better?" and then proceeded to show me the one in the picture and her normal seven year old forced smile), laughing with them, crying with them, and teaching them all along the way. They are each unique: Grace is kind, loving, independent, and very much likes to take care of every one. She is growing up so fast! Olivia is funny, loving, and competitive. I love how she types me notes and school during computer time and brings them home to me. Emma is sweet, loving, and funny. I cherish our time together on Mondays. Even though Grace told me, "It must me nice to have a three day weekend every week, Mom", if you asked Emma what we did on our Mondays, she would say, "We clean, or go to the grocery store." She is my little helper, and such a good girl! I thank the Lord everyday for the opportunity he has given me.

A Day at the Zoo

On Saturday we went to the zoo to see the zoo babies and Zak Morgan, one of our favorite singers. Zak Morgan actually took piano lessons from the same teacher that Grace and Olivia take lessons from! When he was talking to Grace after the concert, he actually remembered talking to her before! It was the perfect day for the zoo--not too cold (like it was at the Festival of Lights) and not soooo hot like it can be sometimes in the summer. Emma took her binoculars in case she needed to "check anything out". They did come in handy while we were having ice cream at the end of the day. One of the male peacocks spread his feathers to attract a female near by, so Emma got out her binoculars out to check it out. When we were there in the fall, it was the turtles! It's always a day packed full of learning and action!!!!

The girls have a picnic lunch, waiting for the concert to start.

Emma wasn't sure she wanted to sit with her sisters!

What do you see, Emma?

A Repost

I deleted the old post because of the comments from the unknown person, but just had to put these pictures of Emma back on the blog, because they are just so Emma and just so cute! Dan took them of her last week on night as we were trying to take new pictures of the house for the website. She came out to see what we were doing. What a cutie!!
